Transfer from Antalya Airport to Finike

Finikeis a famous tourism spot in Antalya province with a perfect blend of history, nature and sea. The district draws attention with the ruins of Limyra and Arykanda ancient cities. It is also famous for its oranges.

It is founded with the name of Phoinikos at the entrance of Aykırı (Arykandos) Brook in the 5th century B.C. It is supposed that the name ‘Finike’ comes from the Phoenicians who used the region as a trade centre. Limyra, the capital city of the region, was known as the harbour where the export of its agricultural produces was carried out.

Where to go in Finike ?

You can start your journey with a ride to the ruin place in Arif Village, which is in the middle of the Elmalı-Finike highway. There is no information supported by the sources of archaeological and written records about the time of first settlement. It is known as an ancient settlement place since the name ‘Arykanda’ is a native name in respect of philology.

You can rent a car in Finike or book your private car with the driver in Finike and start the journey .

On one of the most upper terraces of Arykanda, there is a stadium of which running track takes the shape of a trapeze after a certain part. You can get there by car , Private transfer , shuttle transfer or by taxi .

The seats of the stadium are on one side. By stairs near to the middle of the stadium, it is connected to the lower terrace having a small but well-preserved theatre. In the lower terrace, there is Odeon accessed by stairs from the theatre. The portico in front of the Odeon surrounds the Agora in the shape of cornered U. Necropolis covers much more area than the official and private buildings do.

Finike is well connected by local buses to other major towns along the coast, at less than an hour from the tomato growing town, Demre and the popular holiday town, Kas.
